Irma call update june 1-09

some updated pics from hayley--on a cd she sent home

heat up the grill--lots of hamburgar for bar-b-ques

dear family--here are dad -hunter and I wrapping packages and packages of hamburgars so that we can have lots of food on the grill this summer--consider yourselves officially invited to come
anytime--and we'll throw one or two on--I got such a kick out of Hunter wanting to stack them up and he really did help wrap them--he climbed right up there and wanted to help us...it was cute

a few pictures of our parents--that go along with the post below--( of things remembered about our parents)

Grandma Helen
Grandpa (Harold) call

these pics are in this post--of g and g call--then below I go on in the next post to tell more about them for instance--I mentioned that both sets of your grandparents had 8 kids-but forgot to mention below that -both grandma had their eighth child after the age of 40 --what women of courage--

as a favor to me--please think of them as the next month brings up father's day celebration--and know that as the quote goes--we stand on the "shoulders of those who have gone before us" I have the greatest respect for both our dad's as they were great men and good examples to all of you even if you can't really remember them--hopefully you can feel of the great spirits they radiated and the good women that stood beside them--helping them

remembering..our folks

dear family

from time to time --I like to make reference to our wonderful parents--so when you meet them you will feel you know them in a way--I think about them often and it is fun to remember

I thought of our dad's on memorial--both Ray and Harold having served in WWII --I thought to share something about the two mothers on mother's day weekend--they Maeda *& Helen both had the faith to have 8 children and both loved motherhood. I thought about writing something about them today--as tomorrow is Maeda's birthday--and so I am finally doing it this time

all of your grandparents were exceptional people. they all had so much in common

1) all four served full time missions for the church--ray-germany, maeda -boston or what they called the new england mission harold-texas/mexico area

helen-central states mission (missouri area)

2)both grandmothers attended byu-provo

3) both sets of your grandparents raised their family of 8 kids in Heber valley

4) both sets of your grandparents served faithfully in many callings and were dedicated members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints

5) both loved people and their homes were often gathering places for visitors--from far and near

6)both were involved in community

7)all loved music--some of them loved to listen to it--grandma gertsch attended the "choralette programs both nights--of the semi-annual performances and grandma helen was a member of the choir--a great alto voice

8) both were family oriented --making the home a wonderful place of tradition --and a tradition of living gospel principals.

9) all your grandparents were work oriented--we'd have fun--but after the work was ALL done

10)all your grandparents continue to love you (I believe) from the other side of the veil and are anxious to come to know you in the eternities as much as you are to know them--

11) they all had great sense of duty to all the important things in life--they all had great sense of humor--they all had a great capacity for love--they all took the kids on little trips-

12)-they all made memories before they left--they all loved their extended families and loved the legacy of the ancestors that went before..and now I share this because I love their legacy.

love mom
