off to and away...

each year our neighbors the Sheddens are off and away to Arizona for the winter. A long time ago they asked me to paint the spare tire cover--so I did--it had faded a bit through the years so this morning *(friday) after we did the grape juice --I slipped over and fixed the painting up a bit--this was the end result--their dog is pictured in the middle of Don and Eva --they liked it, and said their friends at the trailer park get a kick out of it.

since the crack of dawn...It's been a "grape" day...

at the crack of dawn this morning **(fri Sept 30) we've been washing , steaming and bottling the concord Grapes we picked. **(yesterday on Thurs)





yep 18 quarts total we used a large 2 quart jar that People used years ago to bottle with.
dad and I picked and bottled, the (concord) grape juice--

Now
I hope to make a few batches of grape jelly with one of the bottles and give a quart to the bucks and John our neighbor who gave us the grapes--Come on over we'll drink some and try it out. we tried something new thing year we did it in the back yard with our new camp burners to keep the mess out doors.

kids corner...

don't quite remember how the whole chasing each other goodbye started with the grandkids--but we love that tradition and the many others that we have with the kids like saying 'bahhh' or 'sha-poopee' or tickle fights...or singing this little girl had a birthday...

its been fun seeing family over the course of the summer all the kids and grandkids and well I think dad and I have seen everyone
over the course of the summer.. its been wonderful...

had to drop by Bryan's office tonight for a minute and I took my camera for fun and the members of the stake presidency let me snag a a pic or two. So generally in some years stake conference has been in Sept--but because we have a broadcast with Elder Bednar as part of our stake conference then we meet Oct. 20th/21st Bryan will speak still at the adult session on Sat 6PM at the adult session and at another leadership meeting on Sunday morning. Before the broadcast. As I always say..when its his turn to speak..(as sister Benson said)...."Pray for dad". I know your prayers make a difference to him
It was good to be at the stake center when all the people were filing in a signing up for interviews, it reminded me how involved he is in so many others lives, in the stake. It makes for many blessings in our lives.--One blessing is getting to associate with so many good folks.

Bryan -Happy birthday

Happy birthday--we are all so glad that you were born to this family...you are a great man and have so much going for you. We are so glad that you are a part of us. can we compliment you a bit on your birthday--
10-We can't help but commend you are your great abilities as a father and husband. You are also a great son and brother.
9-you are good at what you do in your work, in your church calling and in life.
8-*you make friends easily and are loyal to those friends,
7-. You help many other people with your quick wit as well, I know brianne has commented more than once that she appreciated your funny side, (both at home and in party and get together situations)

4- you are a good cook, and invite others for bar-b ques and make fun socials around food,
3- you are spiritual , you did a good job leading out as YM leader for many years *(4) I think -you are someone your boys can look to, for a hero. and role model

1--you are an all around wonderful person--always have been since you were born --and we imagine way before that you were wonderful in the pre-mortal life--and will continue to be, as you grow older year by year---enjoy this day--its a celebration of a wonderful life you've led.

an adventure--that is now...old news

this blog is old news but I wanted to post it anyhow for the history record of our 'adventures" as I call them. I loved the movie "up" and one line in that paraphrased is:
" thanks for the adventures-go have some new ones now. "
( I think the man read that from a jounal that his wife left him a note. ).........
.....so having said that : here are some pics

PS..the last picture of the kids club house is the clean version that the grand daughters got it all spic and span and so its a fun place to be

Bryce Canyon

We've just gotten back from a wonderful get away to bryce canyon. The time we spent there was very enjoyable.. We felt that peace that comes to you as you look at the beautiful creations of this world. The stars at night were a magnificant sight as well and the stunning red, pink, yellow and white rocks of the canyons in bryce, kadachrome and red canyons. we left Thurs & returned Sat.
We had enough fun to last us till the next adventure. We surely wish this trip on anyone & everyone!!

happy birthday Forrest . we love ya so much --your smile lights up a room, you are so patient, so funny, so cute so good, so playful, so determined, so silly at times. We loved when you warmed up to us each time we've gotten re-aquainted in your visits, and our visits to you. You weren't quite sure what to think when we came to your house last time--but by the time you left you were buddies with us *(especially papa call) You make us smile so much. so glad that you are part of this clan and so glad for the spirit you bring to our lives. What a little man you are. love those cheeks. wow a whole year old--what a wonderful family you were sent to, here on earth.
