tender mercies

each year as the time of Jan 29 comes around it, is marked on my calendar to tak a moment to be silent and think of not only the time bryan was spared 5 years ago in this terrible car accident but think also of the many times that each of you have been led out of preciarious situation--some that we may not even be aware of--I love you all so much and am so thankful that the Lord gives us SECOND CHANCES , and also gives others second chances who may through bad choices affect our choices, may we all pause this day & think of the many tender mercies, in our lifetime and recognize the Lord's hand in many near misses--each of us have had come into our lives from time to time throughout the years and be grateful that we are here enjoying one another's company

Temple announced in Payson Utah

this is a picture of the land that will be filled one day with a beautiful temple in Payson, Ut. Pres Monson announced it last week and we were thrilled to hear this--having lived in Payson for a few years--it means even that much more to us we called some of our friends in Payson and they are estactic. It is wonderful to live in these latter days. In the last dispensation of time- we went to the temple last night and it was such a blessing to be there.

good to hear from Hayley today

a quote from her letter Jan 25-2010
" we are doing planned service in teh community yes for the first time in my mission we are working for the red cross and it was super fun. the ladies think we are great and yeah i like it. we are just organizing clothes to give to the poor and its good"

hayley caroling with Elders and Sisters last month

Hayley wrote her Monday letter and as usual made me laugh--she said she wouldn't want to be a complainer like Laman and Lemuel. It made me want to make that my new goal too.
it was good to hear of her desire to find and teach people.
one other thought she left is that she is hopeful that an investigator Eva will embrace baptism
we pray that it will all keep going, that everything goes smootly--

Jan 23-2010

Dear family --this has been such a nice day
What a pleasure it was to be introduced by Dad to sister Elaine Dalton today and to shake her hand. I surely enjoyed the message she gave in our stake today attended by RS and Ywomen sisters. I took it to heart. I want to add my thoughts here that I am so happy to have come to earth in a time when temples dot the earth. dad and I are leaving in a few hours to attend the Jordan river temple with our ward, in connection with our ward conference tomorrow.
in the past week dad also got to meet with Elder Pingree from the quorum of the seventy--he was Bryan scott's mission pres and so Elder Pingree spoke so highly of bryan to dad that he could give him any assignment and know he could count on him--so its been a week of hobnobbing with very spiritual and motivating people

went skiing this week

(the pic of me --well ya kinda cheesy -in the parking lot of the resort-but what can ya do? make note of the others --the great scenery--lots of sun and it gave me a bright outlook -a pic is worth a thousand words--so I added them all on hope it gives you a bright outlook too--even though you're seeing it through my eyes...

all I can add is: the skiing was wonderful at alta this week, albion basin had lots of fresh powder snow. and nothing but blue skies, it wasn't even too cold. It was good exercise and a lot of fun. just did a few hours of skiing-
tried to warm up on the little hill first --to make sure my ankle was going to hold up good--man is that ever a workout to try to hold onto a tow rope--I was relieved when the regular chair lift opened at three and you can ski free after three--it was very exhilerating--the kind of thrill I get when I jet ski or snowmobil, comes to me when I am out skiing --and I had a ball.

a new storm

woke up to snow this morning--at least it clears out the air, they say that the mountains will get even more than the valley--it would be good if I can get up there and ski on wed. my short day
I will see how that goes--hope all of you that are getting snow (utah) and Rain (virginia) are doing okay with it--don't let the weather get ya down --keep a bright outlook--things have a way of working themselves out--and spring is just around the corner.

the snow cave brought a lot of joy--to a lot of people
not to mention other day dad saw a little boy on the way home from school crawl in the snow cave that has held up pretty strong--and has not turned more to a 'utah arch' like in moab--the kids just can't resist it--it made for great holiday fun
