I'm thankful for the gospel

I am thankful for the Gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints..it gives us so many opportunities.  It teaches us that the Lord lifts our burdens and difficulties--when we are faced with them.
I was able to bare testimony of this true principle in Relief Society today and I do believe it to be true.
I just wanted to share that with you, dear family--while it is on my mind-- so that when those days of difficulties come then you will remember that, the Lord will make everything right in the end.  How Elder Cook  quotes the apostle Paul in saying..."Eye hath not seen nor ear heard , neither have netereinto the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him"  ...It is my testimony...that challenges will come, but no blessings will be with held from us.  Elder Cook councils in the talk he entitled..
."The songs they could not sing"
that we
 " look through the wide and clear lens of the gospel, instead of the limited lens of mere mortal existance,"

good luck Abbie in Ballet performance

Boy oh boy do I love our family, dance parties in the front room (of our homes and yours)
there is another performance I LOVE and that is watching our family members on stage at ballet performances
Abbie has two performances--Fri and Sat night...Their presentation is called "Vivaldi's four Seasons"  it is beautiful moves--I've seen her practice it  --she is part of the classical ballet academy.

art museum

my loving art--has brought me appreciation for other people's art-- so going to the art museum in springville was a treat.  Megan, Adriana and Abbie--were so fun to go there together with--because they go excited to see all the bright colors and studied out the painting and who it was painted by and what they called it, and tried to figure out how they made the tree truck look round.. great fun. 

hot fudge sundies

I never tire of eating hot fudge sundays--maybe its just my  'comfort food' or something...but I had the good pleasure of shopping for our bathroom remodel....then taking hunter and mayley out for a hot fudge sunday (you know those value meals ones--are pretty terrific too) and we sat up on the stools at the counter and ate it and it was a fun memory for me  (and for them as well I hope)

we're getting there...slow but sure

after searching around stores for just the right tile, grout, cabinet, towel holders, yes and even toilet..this is how it is all coming together...we just have some detail work to do and it should be good to go by the time brad and family get here...that is our goal...dad has worked feverishly on this project and I love him for it.

luncheon

annually we (the stake presidency wives , myself, LeeAnn and Anne) host a simple luncheon for the wives of all the bishops in the stake--it is always good food and good company and very enjoyable.  This year it was enjoyable as always.  these are good and supportive women.  they make it so their husbands can serve without worrying about the home front.  my assignment was yogurt bites and choc covered stawberries
reminded me of the strawberries we made last year at this time for Hayley and Joe;s reception.  (:

ice skating

went ice skating--on Fri with megan, Adrianna, and abbie--  it was so fun to see megan sailing around the ice in her wheel chair, she seemed to be having a ball.  I've wanted to take all the grand kids back in Ut to skate ever since we skated with kaci--in Alaska--
I kept talking about it--and never did--till fri.
How about a date with mayley and hunter to go really soon too--?  I think they would love it too
I only a have  on disclaimer--I'm not really fast at skating but I love it.

Hayley is an amazing runner..by our way of thinking

it was such fun to be at the finish line as Hayley came booking it down the last stretch of her 10 mile run.
she took second in her division and ran it in a time of 1 hour and 10 min...*(wow!!!)  it was fun to be there.

music is wonderful

still practicing for Sunday pray for me  not to let the nerves get the best of me--I feel good about it cause I got my flute referbished...and it plays so well now...I also  get to give a talk  on atonement and I am looking forward  to sharing my thoughts just because I feel that the atonement is the single most significant  event in history.

egg hunts --never go out of style...

look at little  hogan even getting in the act....the bigger kids even got some one dollar bills instead of just pennies this year--woo woo.but overall its more for the fun of the hunt that the prize--you're never to old or too "cool"  I hope to find a few plastic eggs...

the Lorax has a good point--

spring break from school makes for some down time to do some random things...such as go to the theater with Carolyn and watch the Lorax--it is fun and up lifting and rated G and we felt young at heart--sitting through a matinee   --I recommend it and will take anyone with me that wants to go again (especially the grandkids).
I'm motivated to save the planet and recycle at least 

dad and I and Carolyn went for a walk over part of the Bonneville bike trail and over looked the valley it was great fun to visit and good exercise--we also enjoy going to Bonnie's to visit Carolyn there.  We also will post some other blogs of stuff we did with Carolyn over the weekend.  Sisters by chance--Friends by choice--she blesses my life--as do all my brothers and sisters.

Bryan and I were at the Jazz game against the kings last fri night --it was fun to be there on a night that Jim Ferdett was playing too

a slide....a slide!!!!!!

dad and I have talked about putting in a slide for some time now--Mon night dad shopped --bought and installed the slide while I was at my cousins--I think it will be a fun way to get off the deck (besides the stairs of course) those are still available--I tried to get him to just replace the stairs with the slide but no go--(ha ha)
Hogan and Hunter stopped by to give it the "kids seal of approval" and Hunter said great--not sure if Hogan is 100 percent in vote of the bump in the middle--I wasnt' here but I heard it sent him flying--so here we go
