HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE

HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
I THINK THE KIDS WILL ALL HAVE FUN --DRESSING UP AND SEEING FOLKS DRESS UP ARE TWO OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THE DAY--PLUS passing out scones is always fun !!

  here are a few more pictures that didn't get pictured on the monster bash party (grandkid party) and some of the scone making process--Mayley came over and help me punch down the dough and roll out over 100 of the scone dough into balls to freeze ready to cook up. 

monster bash

Held the annual monster bash --aka grandma /grandpa Halloween party last Mon.  we gathered
*put on funny masked --for a quick "silly pic"  --(even though they were already in costume) 
*ate donuts off a string  (nice gooey choc ones)
*played a game  "I like..."
*made a witches brew with dry ice and various ingredients--I like the kids naming what their ingredient represented and I enjoyed the little Halloween chants they made up (on the spot--all together to get the brew to boil)  most Abbie led them out in this and they mimicked her--it was cute
*made rootbeer Homemade with dry ice (can never get too much dry ice -ha)

*ate scones
*rang the doorbell and pretended to trick or treat--at our house--got a small bag/ with a treat and a small toy to do a trick  (these wire --games you get a lakeshore)
*hung around--and played together and ate candy
*read one Halloween book with those interested....
*sung a few Halloween songs and did  a few Halloween poems....
all in all it seemed to be a big success--I heard things from the kids like this was a great party or
I am glad you do this every year---and when they say things like that it makes me want to do it again

fall break

Its been a fun fall (UEA) break from school...I have been enjoying spending time with bryan's family helping them move, and going to park city with nancy' and Hayley and nancy's kids and Carolyn
I have enjoyed going grocery shopping with dad, and getting some random projects done.  I like teaching but mostly--I like being home.  I have so enjoyed playing in the fall leaves with grandkids, painting pictures with grand kids--and doing some Halloween preparations with the grand kids.  We had thur -Fri-Sat-Sun **and mon off this year and I love it>>>>I love fall school break--who knows what will happen next.  \?? that is the joy of the break, just seeing how the day unfolds. I like it that way.

dinner with my brother and sisters

this past week it was fun to sit down around the kitchen table here at our home with one of my brothers and all of my sisters--we just ate and visited and caught up with each others lives..some of us stayed together until about 11:30 pm at night and just laughed and remembered days past.  Also we shared ideas and told stories and experiences.  I am glad for the family that I was raised in.  They have had such a impact on my life.  I hope in some small way I can ever repay them for their influence.  I pray that you my own children will do your level best --to have get togethers with each other.  Take of your "busy badges" and relax and enjoy each other's good company once in awhile--
It sure makes a difference.  Its all about family.

54---is never a bore

It was an enjoyable weekend.* Bryan was so kind

he served me breakfast in bed--earlier in the
Week -*-Brianne and Bryan had taken me out to a nice dinner

*phone calls came in from kaci and her family early in the morning

and emails/calls from Hayley and Joe. while at school

and Hunter brought cards and goodies to me
* after a day of teaching my groups

at school I headed home-*-Nancy and her family and Bryan's

family came over and picked pumkins and sang to me

then we all went all different ways--some to the BYU football

game some went home and *Bryan and I went to dinner and sealing

at the temple. after the temple got to visit with* Hayley on the phone

and a few other people..

* the following Sunday between conference sessions we had

food and cake and sang again with the family--I felt very celebrated  how could I not

the party went on and on and I loved it and I love to see what the many of the new year will bring.

jogging in the mountains

Its one of my favorite times to run in the outdoors.  Hayley and I jogged a little in mill creek canyon this past week.  crisp air beautiful sky, pretty leaves.  Now I am motivated to exercise a little more.
I really enjoy those mountain walks and jogs.  Enjoying it while I can.  Each day gets a little colder.
It was good to have company on the jog with Hayley --I am motivated by someone else exercising beside me.  Now I am off to primary--working with the Kids is a workout--Ha  even though its the day of rest.. (:

monster bash--coming up here soon

in keeping with tradition--we'll hope that you can join in the Family Home Evening of Mon Oct 22
We'll have some scones and games and refreshments...come in costume and ring the doorbell as though you were trick or treating and we'll have an 'extra special' trick or treat.  ha  --
the kids seem to like it--we'll keep it simple with some bubbly dry ice in the root beer or something, and perhaps make a pretend witches brew---open to any ideas

update on dad's ankle

dad's ankle is getting progressively better--but it still gives him quite a bit of pain and trouble. 
The swelling has gone down but these sprains are a long time in the repair process.  He rode his bike around yesterday for some exercise, since its still quite troublesome to walk.   Each day gets a little better.  No basketball for a few more weeks at least.  We are happy he could wear his brace and still do our temple sealings.  He is also so amazing carrying on with work and other projects.  He is helping Brianne and Bryan do a few things at their house.  He tilled up the garden.  He went shopping with me.  He even went shopping without me and bought some new blue sheets---ahhhh --how nice he is to carry on in spite of the injury

you also worked hard to help train grandma and grandpa to be grandparents since you were the first

*6 you help make yummy food you are a good cook and you make life happier by your being willing to make little treats for them with food and with cards and with helping hold Kyle

*5 You are really especially good at looking for the best in others  you helped the little cousins make mud spas at Jordenelle

*4 You were so good to help us with the cousin party—leading out –making up airplanes,   helping everyone have fun and organizing the order we did everything

*3Your smile lights up the room—when you smile and laugh—it catches on to others..and it makes us feel so good inside to be around you

2* You are such a terrific person to just be happy with what you have and not feel jealous of other people and enjoy all that Heavenly father has blessed you

*You are an all around wonderful little lady and growing up so great—it has been so fun to watch you all through the years-- doing so many things—and being so involved in so many things—we love that we live closer now to share in your experience and to feel of your influence
