kids and Christmas go together

days never to be forgotten--The days leading up to Christmas--the performances; (pre-school productions the Nutcracker and gymnastics review and programs  from Alaska via the iphone) Then going to temple square and decorating the house and the of course we love Christmas eve, the Nativity story and singing and pizza by candle light and the gift exchanges.  Its all part of what we look forward to all year long.
   After Christmas is a treat too.  Going sleigh riding --enjoying the gingerbread feeling of days off

fun to have Lyle and Nola Home

Heard Lyle and Nola  bear testimony today as they told about their mission.  It was very good.
Fun to see their family and grandchildren..
a few weeks earlier we had breakfast at Chicks cafe and six of the eight children of my family growing up were there--we enjoyed hearing first hand experiences of Elder and sister Gertsch in Samao.

We met at Chicks Cafe in Heber and heard stories of Lyle and Nola's mission it was so enjoyable

 maybe the Grinch was the bishop (Benson) but it reminded us that Christmas is more than just ribbon and bows...There was a  sweet sense of oneness at the ward breakfast (waffles) in Murray 16th ward

Some Dec happenings

we had a picture with the wives of the stake pres and clerks  after a nice Christmas dinner last week  it was fun.  good food, friends and gifts

Earlier in the month we went to a wonderful exhibit at the church history museum downtown and saw thirty or so paintings of the originals of norman Rockwell that man is talented and oh the details..wow
the exhibit leaves after dec 31 of 2013  so if you can my chance make it to see that --it is wonderful

thankful to spend time together

Of course spending time together has been the highlight of my weekend,, and the food was pretty great too~

Park city  outing for Thanksgiving  2013  including gingerbread houses too!!
