Beautiful mountaintop lake, awesome views, abundant wildlife
Near:Salt Lake City, UT
Scenery:
Distance:6.64 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:2700 ft
Hike Time:4.5 hours
Difficulty:Strenuous
Trail Condition:OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType:Out and Back
DAD AND I HAD A FUN TIME A WHILE BACK HIKING TO THIS LAKE I BORROWED THIS PIC OFF ANOTHER SITE SO NOTE THAT WHEN WE WENT THE LAKE WAS FROZEN
we went on a hike up big cottonwood and saw a few deer and a moose
we also go into quite a bit of snow--but manageable to walk in.  when the moose took a few steps towards us (3 steps towards us) we ran down the snow packed trail slipping and sliding on the way and laughing about it later after we were far and clear of the moose.  you never saw to old fogies like us ran that fast. Ha
We told kaci if we ever saw a moose in Ut we would call the “moose paper” and tell them WE saw a moose  (bryan thought of that)

This is Blanch lake it was frozen over at the time of our hike

pondering the beauty of this magnificent world and feeling the wind on my face

a very fun rock for sitting on and admiring the view--it was a great hike & a great day
