shall we dance? --one, two ,three

the movie the king and I has a song..shall we dance?  one two three...and I love to watch dancing and watch gymnatistics and swimming and anything else the grandkids are doing..

the more we get together

there is a childhood song the "more we get together -the happier we'll be"  I love that song and I love getting together. 

pies pies pies

had fun helping demonstrate how to make pie crust at Relief Society last Tues-Kathy and I had fun

The recipe for my favorite pie crust comes from Kathleen she taught it to me 26 years ago
1 cup crisco, 5 Tablespoons "boiling hot water" this is key 3/4 tsp salt 2 Cups flour 3/4 tsp sugar
add the water to the sugar, salt and shortning--whip vigoriously with a fork until the water is incorporated into the shortning it will be fluffy and resemble creamy frosting (but won't melt the shortning)  then add in the flour , pat into two balls and roll out each ball between geneously floured wax paper --- yummy and flakey and full of uses, (fruit pies, cream pies, chicken pot pies,  children like the pie crusts with cinnimon sugar sprinkled on small pieces and baked-enjoy

* you are a good boy--you try to make others happy. by being happy yourself
* you are so good at saying your colors and playing games that use colors (like spot it)
*  you make us smile when you jump so high on your trampoline (even in your Sunday clothes)
* You look cute when you do all the stuff the bigger kids do.  you follow and copy tricks Hunter does
* you enjoy running around in the leaves and we enjoy watching you
*  You bring so much joy to us when you are at our house and sit and read books with us

* we love it when you chase us down the street to say good-bye
* you are an all wonderful boy and we are so glad that you are a part of THIS family--sure glad Heavenly father sent you to your mom and dad so that you could be a part of our lives too

AND THEY'RE OFF....

Forgot to post about the bike ride Bryan (dad) and Bryan took up in the moutains..  I got to drop them off and snapped a few pics and wandered around for a bit (okay the pics don't do it justice it was pretty oh so pretty_) and they estimated riding about 12 miles
