happy birthday Kerri

Happy Birthday Kerri
You are wonderful -*you make great times, even more great with your fun ways, for example how you got all the kids playing in the church gymnasium one Christmas eve, (games like tag) we still remember your playful ways, fun sense of humor, you try new things --like being 'camp host.' *take such good care of the tasks at hand, -you saved us at the wedding time, baking and ironing (:
* go to such great lengths to make like good for brad, Forrest and Kaci, *you made the picture taking time fun during Hayley and joes's wedding day, being so attentive to hayley and holding up her wedding dress, while moving from place to place. *you are a superb cook, and we still love that yummy chex mix that you taught us to make while in AK. *you care about people. *you are spiritual but not boastful.*you teach your kids what they need to know in life. number facts and such,; but also good manners and just how to be nice. that sort of thing...*you are beautiful, inside and out and don't flaunt it. *you are amazing with all you do day to day and week to week
you are so good take exhert the energy to travel to come visit us--and you are family oriented--we love you.

crazy days of summer

I loved that mayley and hunter came over just to hang out one day.
any grandkids are welcome to do that any crazy summer day--when I'm off work
it just works out slick that bryan can bring them in when he comes in to work

some of the fun we had was : we put out the wading pool out (I almost forgot I had it)

we blew up the raft and relaxed in in in the gargage
*the one we 'should have taken to payson this year but forgot' ha.

we got a picture and filled it with salt and spices--and made an 'experiment' remember how
you liked to do that as a kid? I do

we just cooled off --and so did the truck.. (: and water balloons

we just hung around and ate--some good food
but mostly 'rubbish" like popcycles, ice cream and cookies
oh we did manage some soup and sandwiches too

Wow--Hunter you had a birthday and you are growing so tall and handsome...we love ya --we think you are such a good boy and a good grandson to us. And we'd like to tell some of the things we love about you...
for instance.: you love to let us play trucks with you, *you chase us down the street when we leave your house. *you eat with us and you like all the things we ask you to try, you are a good sport, you love to camp and hike with us. you are nice to your friends and family. you say thank you lots for others who do things for you. You get excited when good things are about to happen, like when we were going to see the Christmas lights--you led the pack. You are good to help your baby brother, you keep the trucks at our house working and you have such a great memory and so good at puzzles and other memory things. you make us smile when you call us on the phone to tell us stuff, like that your neighbor took ya on a tractor ride. Keep being the happy little man that you are. WE LOVE YA for the spirit you have about you.

already a 'pro' at it. wow

Kaci had her big Birthday --this past July--and merrits a shout out post
wow--you are growing so BIG ALREADY!!!!--woo woo....
what an AMAZING grandaughter--for instance:
Kaci: you are often found singing me a tune over the web cam, making me smile when she says 'grandma. and I say what and she says baah!" and then I do it back to her when she's not expecting it.
she is so good to Forrest, she is a big helper, she helped me do stuff for the wedding reception, she is a story teller, and a story listener, she is bright in mind and personality, is really cares about us.
thanks for being a little ray of sunshine in our lives.. you have such an impact on us when we are around you or just visiting with you. keep up your joyful outlook, and continue to be pretty on the inside and out like you now are. hope you had a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! WE LOVE YA!

fun summer art

a picture I painted while relaxing with my cousin Jaime and with Carolyn on Carolyn's birthday
what is cool about this is you seal the colors in by painting a layer of clear wood shelac varnish
over the finished product. the shine really brightens and brings out the colors
a volcano

leafs from our trees painted then removed..

the apple tree kerri painted --the kids love it in the toy area

mayley and hunter and I spray painted this flower from Hayley and joes house

house painted on cereal box

abbie has a whole binder of animals she has painted this is just one

mayley and kaci painted butterflies--last time kaci was here

water color always a favorite medium--endless possibilties--*just get your your brush
not the one that usually comes with the water colores for kids--*(I dislike those plastic bristles)

an idea from a cousin who got the idea from an artist she knew

kaci's butterfly creation

my sister painting along with me at my cousin's

waterblooms in a pool a form of art too...all the pretty colors--(art isn't just drawing or painting)

the model I used for my version of flowers _posted above--every one does a little different "take'

a creation by anna
..I love to teach children to express themselves with their own artwork.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." Pablo Picasso

I've had some fun doing random art this summer and I love it when the grandkids were here during the time of hayley and joes wedding to draw some pictures with me AND to paint some butterflies pics with me..they are displayed along with other of their creations on the closet door in dad's office...I've now started a binder to keep these art treasures in--as there is only so much room on the closet doors but I love them all.

my and the grandkids art since spring has included : painting rocks at the lake, and chalk on the sidewalk, and some oils that you can mix with water (instead of the traditional linseed oil)....then we also painted around leaves onto a paper, and I think some of the grand kids are entering their own work in their county fair--(maybe I should too/)

I got really excited about painting again--when a cousin jamie morton told me about a retreat she went to in Washington state . She taught me some tricks.. then I was looking at the cute apple tree kerri Call (brad's Kerri) painted that is in our basement.. then I saw my sister carrie call keith's carrie helped me paint a little greeting card, then my friend kerri west gave me one of her drawings with a little calligraphy saying and a small pic she drew at the bottom, then, I Talked with a cousin Ann who teaches art in her front room and has little artist gallery at the end of the art sessions....and lastly I Went to the carl bloch art display...and all combine...it just makes me want to paint and draw and doodle, doodle, doodle and sketch.. there is no right or wrong...in art--its aLL GOOD, because its aLL just a different expressions by different souls. my neighbors in kalia cove have a chalk drawing (sidewalks) every 24th of july and its great to see their impressive creations of this media and this also has been an inspiration to me of late
