dad's missionary reunion

Hi family--

dad and I went to his missionary reunion as I told you. It happen to fall on my birthday but was a great way to celebrate I love the Japanese food. I love the things that we heard and felt there;

one thing there was some very beautiful music played. A song some of the Elders made up was sung in Japanese--we have a cd of it. and the words to it in Japanese. It was about finding happiness in the family and in the gospel.. then a slide show and then.

His Pres told how the call came and how it changed their lives. They were influencial on so many missionaries. As were your presidents for those of you who served missions. I unfortutenately don't have a pic with dad and his pres. but I wish I did. yikes --but here are a few other pics from the evening of Oct 5th (including me with a cheesey shot by the birthday sign before we left to go to the reunion) love mom

25 Years....award

Yeah for dad his did it ! yesterday at his work at a luncheon Dad was honored for reaching his 25 year award for working at his job. they did a bit of a roast on him--but he said it was mild

anyhow the main thing is that I am really proud of him and I know you kids have learned from his example of hard work and stick-to-it ness...even when its not your favorite place to be at times. Dad has always been "steady" in all he does and the best example of a husband and dad.

A blast from the past

I was born In SLC Ut. at the LDS hospital --in those days the dad's did not come into the delivery and the mother was put under anethesia-. Everything went great except that I had a closure in my stomach that required my staying a weeks in the hospital . They used to keep the mom's in the hospital for 10 days. I stayed for 14 days. So my seven brothers and sisters were happy when I finally arrived home to Midway Ut. I had a very fun time growing up riding horses and snowmobiles and bikes and mopeds (we called it a totegoat) and motorcycles & driving tractors since I was age 8 and trucks since I was about 11 yrs. my life was full of work -work-work living on a farm but believe it or not..I learned to love work mixed with a good portion of play. I am very happy that I was born into a family that taught me the gospel principles and to parents that loved to live those principles because they do bring happiness. (:

I know these aren't the best quality but they are fun pics...I think because they remind me of the happy childhood I had in Midway...I can't believe I'm 49 years old.(soon)..but as I always say life gets more and more fun each and every year.

bryan's birthday

we ate out at sweet tomatoes restaraunt tonight for Bryan's birthday. That was a happy time 26 years ago getting him here. One of the 7 greatest days of our lives. I may have to bump that number up now that we are getting all the cute grandkids I used to always count. Our marriage and then the birth of the four kids and our own births. hum...anyhow--we told the story of his birth again during the dinner (and mine too) we celebrated together

I had to laugh that Brianne has heard the story of his birth so many times. I love for each of you to know about each others birth and the events surrounding the birth. Hopefully you'll appreciated (at least its my goal) the joy we felt with the arrival of each of you into our family circle --that is why retelling the story is a part of the birthday dinner. --not a single pic to show from the restaraunt (I'm slipping with my photography) eek...but I wanted to add one thing Brianne did was make a cute card for him (a small booklet) with "26" things she loves about Bryan from A-Z using all the letters from the alphabet...very cute Brianne. He surely felt loved

Hi there family --we thought we should tell about some of the random things we've done lately or not so lately--we helped set up a wedding breakfast for our friends the Hunters and then also we have been canning grape juice, tomatoe juice, tomatoes whole, whole pears,, dried pears, bottled peaches, and frozen peaches and frozen nectar from apricots and canning applesauce. now all that season is coming to an end. Everyone come home and help us eat it all...please
